Merry Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

I hope this holiday season is filled with lots of joy and love and family and gifts and cheer.

Since we're on the subject of being "filled", let's all remember to take it lite when in the presence of delicious family traditions like turkey & chicken, collard greens & potatoes, stuffing & yams.

Food is a huge part of American Family Tradition, but we don't have to binge until we're "huge".  Some things we can do to offset our potential over-eating are:
  • Taking a short walk
  • Fitting a workout in
  • Playing in the snow
  • Chasing little ones around the house, etc.
With all that said, let's enjoy this time with our families and friends and continue, even through the holiday season, to work toward living HEALTHY LIFESTYLES!!!

See you on Tuesday.

One "Must Do" for Everyday!!

For those of us who want to lose weight, be healthy, live longer, have a clearer mind and better memory....(and the list goes on) there is one daily practice that MUST be implemented.  That daily practice is
EATING BREAKFAST!!

Eating breakfast is an important part of living a healthy lifestyle.  Some of the benefits of eating a healthy breakfast are:
  • Increased Metabolism
  • Weight Management (gaining, losing or maintaining)
  • Nutrient Intake
  • Improved Memory and Concentration
  • and a decreased desire to eat too much or binge.
There are many healthy and tasty choices you can incorporate into your diet for breakfast.  Such as:
  • Fruit (in smoothies or just fresh)
  • Whole Grain and High Fiber Cereals
  • Natural Yogurts
  • Oatmeal
  • Multi-Grain English Muffins
  • Scrambled Eggs and more
So, let's make it a point to EAT BREAKFAST.  It's the most important meal of the day!!
